Game show comes to Taumarunui

MAORI TV kicked off a tour of 13 small New Zealand towns in Taumarunui last month, to record two episodes of its new game show ‘Lucky Dip on the Road’. The first of the Taumarunui episodes will go to air on Sunday (October 23). The channel’s communications manager Alisa Murray said the filming drew a lively audience of about 100 to Taumarunui War Memorial Hall on September 15, where the two 22-minute game episodes were recorded in one evening. “This was the first stop in our nationwide tour of Aotearoa, followed by Hāwera, and what a place to kickstart the first leg,” Alisa said. “The crowd and contestants enjoyed the banter and we had a positive response from locals who brought along their whānau and friends for a night out.”
