November 22 AS a Search and Rescue crew was about to deploy to search for a cyclist overdue on the Timber Trail, she returned.
November 23 TAUMARUNUI police summonsed a man to court for speaking threateningly. TWO drivers were caught drunk driving by Taumarunui police.
November 24 A COMMERCIAL premises in Te Kūiti was broken into overnight and a side-by-side vehicle was stolen, including a purpose-built trailer. Police say they are continuing to investigate the incident and reviewing CCTV. A TRAILER attached to a vehicle parked in Hangatiki was stolen overnight. The vehicle was also broken into and items were stolen. THE way a 50-year-old was driving in Te Kūiti brought him to the attention of police who pulled him over. He was breath tested and found to be in excess of the 250mcg per litre of breath limit. AN abandoned vehicle was reported on Taringamotu Rd, Taumarunui. POLICE attended an alarm activation at a Taumarunui organisation.
November 25 EMERGENCY services attended a crash on SH30 Waitete Rd, Te Kūiti where a car was rear-ended. A SECURE garage in Te Kūiti was burgled between November 23 and 25. A Mongoose brand mountain bike and power tools were reported stolen. POLICE attended a disorder at Taumarunui Hospital. TWO people spotlighting from SH41 were located by police and spoken to.
November 26 A PERSON was assaulted with a weapon on Te Kūiti Rd, Te Kūiti as the result of a family harm episode. All parties were known to police. POLICE arrested a 25-year-old man on a charge of assault on a person in a family relationship in Ōtorohanga. He was due to appear in Hamilton District Court on Monday. TAUMARUNUI police arrested a man for breaching a protection order. A DRIVER in Taumarunui was found to be drink driving.
November 27 YOUNG people were discovered at the weekend to be using the old Craig’s building in Te Kūiti as a drinking spot. Minor damage was reported to the building in addition to graffiti of internal walls. Police say they are following strong lines of enquiry in the incident.
November 28 A YOUTH was spoken to by police regarding damage to the greens at the Taumarunui Golf Club.
POLICE were called to six family harm episodes in Ōtorohanga, seven in Te Kūiti and nine in Taumarunui between November 22-28.
CALLOUTS Ōtorohanga November 22 FIREFIGHTERS were called to a public fire alarm at Ngutunui School at 10.48pm. November 23 AT 2.01am a crew was dispatched back to Ngutunui School after the alarm sounded again. November 25 TOILET paper was set on fire in the toilets at the Ōtorohanga skate park. Firefighters were called at 5.30pm to put out the fire. November 27 THE brigade was called at 3.56pm to a flooded property on Merrins Ave, Ōtorohanga. Water was drafted out and the section was cleared.
Te Kūiti November 22 AN alarm was activated in a building on Rora St at 3.31pm. An investigation from the fire brigade found it was a fault in the system. November 24 OCCUPANTS of a smoke-logged house on Esplanade, Te Kūiti were assisted by St John after they inhaled smoke. Firefighters attended the scene at 11.45pm and unattended cooking was found to be the cause. November 25 THE fire brigade was called at 8.56pm to the scene of a crash on SH30 Waitete Rd, Te Kūiti. A vehicle ran into the back of another, causing minor injuries to one of the occupants who was taken to hospital.
Kāwhia November 22 THE fire brigade responded to extensive flooding in Aotea Village as the result of extreme weather at 5.06pm. November 25 FIREFIGHTERS were called at 8.51pm to an incident of domestic flooding at an address on Kāwhia St, Kāwhia. The flooding was caused by a burst water pipe.
