November 29 A 56-year-old man was found deceased on a property near Tahaaroa at about 11pm following a crash involving two quad bikes. TAUMARUNUI police arrested a woman in relation to a family harm incident.
November 30 TAUMARUNUI police trespassed a male from a business after he became abusive towards staff.
December 1 TAUMARUNUI police warned a male who had been trespassed from a residential address. A BURGLARY was reported on Pukehou Rd, Manunui.
December 2 TWO females were trespassed from a Taumarunui business after they were caught shoplifting. STOLEN goods posted for sale online were returned to their owner by Taumarunui police. TWO young people were warned for being unlawfully in an enclosed yard on Miro St, Taumarunui.
December 3 AN army camouflage coloured Jumanji brand quad bike worth between $2600-$3000 was reported stolen between November 26 and December 3. Also reported missing was a boat tank, from a shed on Waitomo Valley Rd, Waitomo. SEVERAL items were reported stolen from a holiday home on Hoturoa St, Kāwhia overnight. The glass on the front door was smashed to gain entry. Chocolates, a Black Magic fishing knife, a set of keys, a big blue ear tag, alcohol, fireworks and a bag were all reported stolen. NUMBER plates with the registration number FWJ173 were reported stolen from a vehicle on Lawrence St Te Kūiti. TAUMARUNUI police spoke to the parents of youths who were seen to be on a property unlawfully. A WOMAN was arrested for acting disorderly at Taumarunui Hospital. TAUMARUNUI police arrested a man for a family harm-related matter.
December 4 A BLACK 2014 Yamaha 1ZF motorcycle was reported missing from Ward St, Te Kūiti between December 2 and 4. A HAMILTON woman reported that her PayWave card had been stolen and used twice in Te Kūiti. A MAN was airlifted to Waikato Hospital with serious injuries after he crashed his motorbike into a power pole on Esplanade, Te Kūiti. Police were called to the scene at 4.23pm. The rider was not wearing a helmet. EMERGENCY services were called to a house fire on Awakino Rd, Te Kūiti at 4.45pm. A subsequent investigation determined the circumstances were suspicious and it is being treated as such. TAUMARUNUI police arrested a male for assaulting a female.
December 5 CAR parts were reported stolen from a commercial address on Otewa Rd, Ōtorohanga between December 2 and 5. A STOLEN white 2005 Nissan bluebird was located outside an address on Edward St, Te Kūiti. It was reported stolen the day prior from a house on Hinerangi St, Te Kūiti. A FEMALE was trespassed from a residential address in Taumarunui.
POLICE were called to 10 family harm episodes in Ōtorohanga, six in Te Kūiti and seven in Taumarunui between November 29 and December 5. CALL OUTS Te Kūiti December 3 THE rider of a motoX bike was airlifted to Waikato Hospital at 11.17am. Firefighters were called to set up a landing zone near the motocross track in Te Kūiti. POLICE, St John and the fire brigade all responded to a crash on Oparure Rd, Te Kūiti where a car left the road at 2.20pm. Minor injuries were sustained. December 4 A MOTORBIKE rider was airlifted to Waikato Hospital after crashing into a power pole on Esplanade, Te Kūiti at 4.35pm. CREWS from Te Kūiti and Ōtorohanga responded to a house on fire on Awakino Rd, Te Kūiti at 5.04pm. THE brigade was called at 5.58pm when a single car crashed in Te Mapara. The driver had minor injuries and the scene was attended by Te Kūiti, Ōtorohanga and Piopio brigades.
Ōtorohanga December 3 FIREFIGHTERS helped lift a person stuck in a bathroom at 4.58am.
