POLICE have arrested a 38-year-old Ōtorohanga man and charged him with arson following a house bus fire last month. He has also been charged with assault with a blunt instrument. He appeared in Hamilton District Court on Friday and was remanded in custody until his next court date, in Te Kūiti next week. Police said they have been aware for some time of animosity between two Ōtorohanga men which allegedly culminated in the events of November 18. Police believe two incidents that occurred that day were linked to this animosity. It is also alleged there was an earlier incident that day in which one vehicle repeatedly rammed into another on Kakamutu Rd near the domain.
