January 25 FIREFIGHTERS assisted Piopio Volunteer Fire Brigade with managing traffic and helping the driver of a truck which rolled on SH3, Mahoenui at 7.23am.

January 28 THE brigade responded to 25 calls for assistance in less than six hours between 1.30pm and 7.10pm because of a storm. The calls related to flooding, trees blocking roads and general assistance being required.

January 29 ASSISTANCE was provided by firefighters at the scene of a crash on Ngapeke Rd, Rangitoto, at 2.54am where a milk tanker left the road. No injuries were sustained.

Ōtorohanga

January 25 THE brigade was called to a public fire alarm at 8.35pm.

January 26 A CAR collided with a tree on Te Kawa Rd, Tihiroa, at 4.50pm.

A SMALL fire was found at the Te Kawa crossroad rest area at 7.37pm after reports of smoke in the area.

January 27 FIREFIGHTERS responded to a medical call at 11.15am.

January 31 NO injuries were sustained in a crash where a car collided with a bank on SH39, Ōtorohanga, at 9.30am.

Kāwhia

January 28 FIREFIGHTERS responded to calls about storm damage on Morrison Rd, Aotea, at 7.30am. CALLS were made for help with flooding on Ahurei St, Kāwhia, at 12.10pm.

January 31 FIREFIGHTERS were called to an emergency medical response in Kāwhia village at 3.06am.

STORM damage was reported on Kāwhia Rd, Puti, at 6.36am.
