New general manager for Waihikurangi

Ashleigh Turner (Ngāti Maniapoto, Waikato, Ngāti Awa) is the new general manager of Waihikurangi, the Charitable Arm of Te Nehenehenui.

Ashleigh who was raised in Ōtorohanga and Hangatiki started her new job earlier this month.

“Knowing who I am and supporting our people has always been important to me.

“I’m motivated by our tūpuna and whānau who continue to give, so that our future generations can prosper,” Ashleigh said.

“This is an opportunity that I don’t take lightly but one that I’m ready for and will be guided by our mātāpono; aroha, ture, whakapono.

“I am committed to ensuring the execution of our five-year plan is carried out effectively and contributes to the aspirations of our people. I look forward to the mahi that lays ahead of us.”

Te Nehenehenui Group CE, Samuel Mikaere said Ashleigh was passionate about social investment, community, and Māori outcomes

“With over 15 years’ experience across iwi, government, and private sectors, we are excited to have Ashleigh join us at such a critical establishment phase for Waihikurangi. She will be a great asset to Te Nehenehenui,” Samuel said.
