In brief

Bombs away in Te Kūiti

GET your togs on Te Kūiti, because there’s free entry to Waitomo District Pools tomorrow afternoon.

Taumarunui Kokiri Trust has organised the free event at the pools on Hinerangi St, Te Kūiti to kick off from 3pm and run until 7pm.

There’s free entry, free kai, a bombing competition and prizes to be won. In the case of bad weather, the event will be postponed.

Motorbikes causing headaches

POLICE have received multiple complaints about motorbikes being ridden in a dangerous manner, including the riders not wearing helmets and doing wheelies on footpaths around Te Kūiti.

It is recommended people who observe the behaviour report the time, date and place either in the moment or the next morning.

The manner of driving is of a concern to the safety of both the riders and the general public, police say.

Correction

In the story about Ōtorohanga Support House (King Country News February 23) it was incorrectly stated that Greta Withers was the manager.

She is in fact the chairperson. The manager is Deb Hill.

Apologies for the error.
