POLICE were called to a family harm incident in Te Kūiti, where they placed a five-day police safety order (PSO) on one of the people involved.
A PSO protects victims by removing a person from a volatile situation, ordering them not to contact or go near anywhere occupied by the protected person. Police are continuing enquiries into the incident.
A RED old-style Honda station wagon was reported to police for driving erratically.
March 1
MEMBERS of the public called police after they heard yelling from a property in the Lawrence St, Te Kūiti area. Police attended and found it to be a family matter.
March 2
A NUMBER scrap metal items were removed from a commercial premises in central Te Kūiti. Police enquiries are continuing, including the review of CCTV footage.
March 3
POLICE detained a 19-year-old female in custody for breaching a police safety order. Enquiries are continuing into the original family harm incident, which saw the woman become subject to the safety order.
MULTIPLE disorder incidents involving the same people in Ōtorohanga sparked responses by police.
A VEHICLE was reported stolen from the outskirts of Ōtorohanga township. It has since been located, but some property was removed from inside.
March 5
A TE Kūiti resident located a stolen car on their private property at the weekend. The car had a smashed window and obvious interference to its ignition. Police are working to track down the registered owner.
POLICE received reports of six family harm episodes in Te Kūiti and eight in Ōtorohanga between February 28 and March 6.
