Company takes over RDC noise, animal control

RUAPEHU District Council has contracted New Zealand’s largest security provider First Security to deliver after-hours noise and animal control and other services.

The executive manager for regulatory and customer services, Warrick Zander, said First Security had a track record over 20 years of delivering effective compliance solutions to local government.

“The after-hours contract covers Monday to Thursday from 5pm to 8am, weekends from 5pm Friday to 8am Monday and public holidays,” he said.

“As part of their commitment to the local community, First Security will be employing four local staff members to provide these services in Ruapehu.

“This will not only benefit local employment but also ensure that Ruapehu communities receive the most knowledgeable and responsive after-hours service possible.”

In addition to core noise and animal control services, First Security would respond to stock on roads, calls for assistance from police and some parking and freedom camping complaints after-hours.

These additional services would provide Ruapehu communities with a comprehensive suite of after-hours compliance solutions, Warrick said.

First Security chief executive Tim Covic said the company had acquired local security company King Country Security Services and would be integrating the local expertise into its operations.

“We believe this will enable us to provide an even higher level of service.

As a national business we are committed to supporting local communities across New Zealand and look forward to working closely with the council to keep Ruapehu communities safe,” he said.
