Covid strikes newsroom

If this week’s King Country News feels a little light on news, we apologise.

There’s a very good reason for this, and one that may carry over into next week’s edition, although we hope not.

Unfortunately, our office has been struck down by Covid with five staff affected and isolating at home.

This leaves five staff on deck, including one reporter, to pull this week’s paper together.

It’s been a challenge and has meant we haven’t been able to cover all the stories and events we would have liked to this week.

But all things considered, we think we’ve done a pretty good job in getting the paper onto the street and hope our readers think so too.

We’re expecting everything to return to normal very soon.
