TAUMARUNUI police were called when a tenant threatened their landlord.

April 12

POLICE attending a crash on SH4 at the bottom of Hiwi Hill found no one with a vehicle that had gone over a bank.

TAUMARUNUI police found stolen items when searching a property.

TWO people were helped off Mt Ruapehu by search and rescue after they became disorientated in low cloud.

April 13

A VEHICLE was driven into the front of a sports shop in Taumarunui. Several items were stolen, and the vehicle was later found in Taumarunui.

April 14

FORENSIC enquiries are ongoing into the circumstances surrounding a ute and trailer being stolen from the George St and Hospital Rd area of Te Kūiti overnight. The trailer was located on the river embankment of Te Kumi Rd, behind shops and houses. It was recovered with all contents intact. The ute was subsequently found south of Te Kūiti with the ignition damaged.

EXTENSIVE damage was caused during an attempt to steal a vehicle from a garage in the Eketone St and Hospital Rd area of Te Kūiti between April 12 and 14. Damage was caused to the vehicle’s locks and steering column.

POLICE arrested a young man in relation to the Taumarunui ram raid the previous day.

A GROUP of people were found unlawfully hunting in a Ruapehu district forestry block.

A SHIPPING container advertised on Facebook and paid for was never delivered.

NO injuries were reported in a collision between two turning vehicles on SH41.

April 15

PETROL and farming equipment including iodine were reported stolen overnight from a property in Parawera.

AN 18-year-old driver in Te Kūiti was charged with having a breath alcohol reading above 400mcg. The legal alcohol limit for an adult is 250mcg, but drivers younger than 20-years-old are forbidden from driving with any alcohol in their system.

April 16

A MALE who sprained his ankle on the Tongariro Crossing was stretchered out by search and rescue.

TWO truck batteries were reported stolen from a commercial property on Progress Dr, Ōtorohanga.
