Central funding is better option

I see Mayor John Robertson having his monthly right-wing crack at the government water reforms. How does he propose to fund upgrades in future for Waitomo?

We have sewage water, which is claimed to be treated, being pumped into the nearest river at every town in Waitomo.

Even though it is said to be treated, is it fit to drink? If it is, why is it not returned to the water supply instead of being dumped into rivers?

The 10,000 ratepayers cannot afford higher rates, so surely some form of central funding is a better option.

I get sick of the implication that central government is going to come in and rip out all the existing networks and leave us with nothing when they will simply be relieving councils of the heavy burden that’s coming our way in the not-too-distant future.

One only has to have a look at the river entering Te Kūiti and see that water quality is not too bad to the naked eye.

But look at where the same river enters the Waipā River at Ōtorohanga, and see the filth that it carries.

Medical facility wonderful

Over the weekend I required some medical attention for a rather ugly leg wound.

After receiving initial attention from local Piopio volunteer first aiders who were off duty, I was taken to Te Kūiti emergency centre where I was attended to by a lovely young nurse, Ellen, and Dr Intal.

They were wonderful, putting me at ease and did an amazing job.

Thank you so much for being there for me.

We are so lucky to have such a wonderful medical facility in our area.

Act party does not care

ACT party does not care for our children and families.

Here we go Kiwis. Act is calling it a waste of money to feed our children at our schools.

David Seymour/Act party is attacking innocent children as some of our families are struggling to put bread and butter on tables.

Our schools have volunteers at school making lunches for our children. Has David Seymour volunteered for our children in schools?

Act is at logger heads with National party/Chris Luxon agrees to lunches in schools and breakfast for our children.

Act party David Seymour is very dangerous if he gets any control in government.

New Zealanders, Kiwis, read (the) writing on Act party and leader David Seymour.

Voting for Act will put children, families on the street over time.

David Seymour is okay. His wages and perks in Parliament, he can afford his taxpayers’ money, your money.
