TWO firetrucks were called to Roselands in Waitomo on Saturday.
Ōtorohanga
October 11
At 6.31am, the brigade sent its fire truck and tanker to a cowshed fire in Wharepuhunga Rd. The Te Awamutu brigade also sent a truck. Damage was limited the the roof of the building and its wiring.
October 14
At 12.36am, the brigade was called out after a utility vehicle crashed through a fence in Ouruwhero Rd. Two trucks attended but no action was required.
At 2.21pm, two trucks from Ōtorohanga and one from Te Awamutu were called to a house fire on Te Kawa Rd. This turned out to be a property owner’s controlled burn-off of a derelict building.

At 3.17pm, the brigade was called out after a van rolled on Ngutunui Rd. There was no injury to the driver.
October 15
At 10.16am, the brigade was called to the Caltex petrol station after a tanker over-filled the diesel tanks.
The area was covered with chemicals and material firefighters refer to as “kitty litter”, and then washed down.
