At about 6.15am, the brigade was called out to assist St John with a medical case.
At 9.46am, they were called to a rubbish fire in Rangatahi St.
March 17
At 2.05pm, the brigade was called out to secure a helicopter landing site on Puketawai Rd, but were stood down with St John Ambulance at the scene.
March 18
At 1.05pm, the brigade’s fire truck, tanker and utility vehicles were called to an out-of-control fire in Waverly Rd, Maihiihi.
The brigade spent more than an hour putting it out.
“It was a controlled burn-off. There are no permits required at the moment but, of course, the wind came up and that was it,” fire chief Neville King said.

March 17
At 7pm, the brigade was called out after a car crashed into a shallow creek near the intersection of Te Kumi and Gadsby roads.
The sole occupant of the car was uninjured, and the brigade assisted them until police arrived.
Benneydale
March 18
At 5am, the brigade was called after an alarm activated at Crusader Meats.
This was put down to a faulty alarm activation and no action was required.
