Anzac shoot a success

Hundreds of shooters joined the firing lines at the ‘World Famous Duckshooters’ shoot at Te Kūiti Gun Club.

“The Anzac Day shoot was a huge success with 207 shooters including some people who have been coming since 1974,” said Neil Pratt, Te Kūiti Cambridge Trap Shooters Club president.

The Anzac Day event ensured hunters were on the mark leading into game bird season.

“The simulated fields were well received and challenging for shooters in the swamp and along the rivers and tremendous sponsorship saw $7000 in prizes given away,” Pratt said.

Top of those at home on the range were: highest overall Callum Howlett, A Grade Jamie Reith, B Grade Mat Swetman, C Grade Simon Bond, Women Mairi Sinclair, Veterans, Steve Vincent, Juniors Troy Sterling.
