Tuikubulau double for blues

The Ōtorohanga Sports men’s Waikato Club Rugby premier teams had a tough trip into Hamilton on Saturday.

In their first away game of 2026, the premier golds lost 22-7 to Fraser Tech at Mill Street Park.

Reserve forward Turuva Lumelume scored the sole try for the visitors, while pivot Manaaki Rewi-Wetini add the conversion.

Norman Wise – son of former Ōtorohanga, Waikato, King Country and Fiji forward Anthony – scored one of Fraser Tech’s three tries.

In the earlier clash, the Ōtorohanga premier development blues side lost 53-21 to Fraser Tech B.

Waikato hooker Manaaki Boyle-Tiatia – son of former Manu Samoa hooker Ace – scored one of Tech B’s tries.

Centre Josaia Tuikubulau grabbed a double for the blues, while ever-present winger Isoa Dobui scored the third try.

Halfback Zach Coles converted all three.

The men’s teams will both have a tough challenge on Anzac weekend as they host Hamilton Marist at Island Reserve.

The third-placed women’s premiership side had a bye and prepare to take on second-placed Hamilton Old Boys Huskiez this weekend at Hamilton’s Willoughby Park.
