A REUNION for past pupils of Matapuna Primary School is to be held in Taumarunui next month.

Organised by Taumarunui resident Ken Te Waa, the reunion is for pupils who attended the school from its opening in 1955, until its closure in 1999.

The school then became Te Kura Kaupapa Maori o Taumarunui, which has continued in the old school premises, at 35 Makere St, up to the present.

The reunion will begin with a sing-along at the Taumarunui Cosmopolitan Club on the evening of Friday, April 14, followed up the next day by a trip down memory lane at the kura.

The Saturday event will take the form of a photo display featuring images taken throughout the 44 years the primary school was in operation.
